Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage customer networks, deliver network design and consultancy, and provide operational support. This role is suited for a self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities and advanced network infrastructure knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve network incidents and service requests in line with SLAs.
• Oversee network health, performing daily checks using tools like SolarWinds.
• Install and configure network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls).
• Design and implement Wi-Fi and mobile communication solutions.
• Document network configurations clearly and comprehensively.
• Provide 3rd line and on-call support for critical incidents.
• Mentor junior team members and assist with project deliverables.

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

• Strong background in large-scale network design and support, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, and secure network protocols (e.g., MPLS, BGP, IPSEC).
• Expertise with Cisco routers, Nexus switches, and F5 load balancers.
• Familiarity with network security protocols and remote access.

Qualifications:

• CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Degree in a numerate subject (e.g., Computer Science or Engineering) is beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for travel to data centres.
