Overview
We are hiring an experienced Consulting Technology Engineer to join a Network Engineering team based in Redhill. This role focuses on the design, deployment, maintenance, and support of Wide Area Networks (WAN), SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and on-premises infrastructure. You will support critical connectivity for 30,000+ users across UK and North America operations.
This is a hands-on, technical lead position with responsibility for network engineering projects, operational support, cloud integration, and automation using Infrastructure as Code principles. Some travel to UK offices and datacentres may be required.
Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy and support WAN, SD-WAN, datacenter, cloud (AWS/GCP), and branch office networks.

Configure and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Implement automation for network configuration and management (Terraform, Python, APIs).

Provide third-level support and smart hands-on troubleshooting for local and remote network issues.

Monitor network performance and ensure service reliability.

Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 network support.

Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver effective solutions.

Document network designs, changes, and procedures.

Present technical updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
Key Skills and Experience
Essential:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
-
5+ years in network engineering roles.
-
Expertise in WAN, LAN, Routing (BGP, OSPF), SD-WAN technologies.

Experience with cloud networking (AWS and/or GCP).
-
Automation skills using Terraform, Python, REST APIs.
-
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Desirable:
-
Experience leading technical projects.

Knowledge of monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, AppNeta, Broadcom DXNetOps, DataDog).

Telecommunications (MPLS, ISPs, Optical Networks) understanding.
-
Familiarity with VxLAN, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability solutions.
