Lead Software Engineer

Location: Redhill, UK (Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days remote)

About the Role:

Deep Dive Hire is recruiting a Lead Software Engineer on behalf of our client, a major player in the insurance technology sector.

This is a key opportunity to lead the implementation and transition to Guidewire Policy Centre, offering technical leadership, strategic influence, and team mentoring in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set technical direction and influence multiple engineering teams.

  • Drive alignment between business priorities and engineering execution.

  • Lead complex design, development, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Apply industry best practices and trends to develop innovative technical solutions.

  • Provide technical coaching, mentorship, and leadership to engineering teams.

  • Build and maintain effective partnerships across technology and business areas.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive programming and development experience.

  • Strong background in technical leadership roles.

  • Deep understanding of software design methodologies and best practices.

  • Proven ability to influence technology strategies and solve complex engineering problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, fostering collaboration and growth within teams.


Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).

  • Significant programming and software development expertise.

  • Prior experience in a technical leadership position.

  • Experience with Guidewire Policy Centre and/or Claim Centre is highly desirable.
